Our team is drawn from a diverse range of industries and backgrounds including consultancy, renewables and energy markets, finance, and NGOs.

In common they share a track-record of outstanding performance and achievement, and a desire to push forward the world’s understanding of the sustainability transition. They’re nice people too.

Our team

Tom Rayner

Tom founded Sillion in 2020 to address the need for an advisory offering that could address both sustainability strategy, and its communication. He has over 15 years’ experience within communications, focused on impactful sectors including renewables, cleantech, and sustainability. He has advised clients from the FTSE100 to governments at boardroom level, encompassing a range of scenarios from IPOs and crisis communications, to purposeful narrative and industrial engagement.

Tom holds a degree in Archaeology & Anthropology from the University of Oxford. He is fond of open spaces, and would like to sleep more.

Kristen Filice

Kristen is a principal ESG consultant with over 15 years’ experience leading projects, teams, and strategies both in house and as a consultant. Across 7 countries and 4 continents, she’s delivered a wide range of holistic ESG project specialising in decarbonisation strategies, and building and integrating credible, ambitious climate action. Starting in corporate tech, she most recently launched the UK industry roadmaps to net zero for hospitality and brewing, accelerating action for individual businesses, their shared supply chains, and the UK regulatory environment.

A glutton for long, gruelling outdoor activities, in her spare time you can find Kristen trail running, cycling around the countryside, fighting to stay afloat in the ocean, or drinking obscene amounts of coffee, without which none of this would be possible.

Frances Deft

Frances is a seasoned expert in sustainability and business transformation, with over a decade of experience in both in-house roles and consultancy for major corporations, including Deloitte and the BBC.

Currently, she serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Sillion, where she is responsible for developing Sillion's core consulting offerings and implementing key solutions to enhance the company's technical and operational processes. Her extensive background in ESG and business transformation enables her to drive strategic initiatives that promote resilience, quality, and efficiency across the organisation, delivering client solutions designed to address the real-world challenges faced by sustainability professionals.

Growing up in the Lake District, she is passionate about hiking and her AllTrails catalogue is a source of great pride. Frances also has a penchant for unusual holiday destinations, having visited every communist country in the world.

Joe Beviss

Joe is a senior sustainability consultant with extensive experience working with both corporates and financial institutions to better understand and manage climate risk. He has experience working with many FTSE100 clients on carbon accounting, Scope 3, sustainability strategy, target-setting, as well as portfolio footprinting and scenario analysis.

He holds a MSc with Distinction in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London, as well as a BA Geography degree from the University of Exeter.

In his spare time he has two main loves: food and music. As an avid foodie he is always looking for the hottest restaurant recommendations while in 2022 he clocked over 100,000 minutes of listening time on Spotify.

Caroline Gränsbo

Caroline is an associate communications consultant at Sillion. Her professional journey started at a Swedish sustainability agency, coordinating communications for one of Sweden's most influential climate business networks, as well as assisting in a large climate-related project funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers. Caroline's skill set spans communication coordination, policy analysis, social media management.

Her multidisciplinary studies in the United States and the United Kingdom, culminated in a first-class honors degree in BSc Politics and International Relations from University College London. When she is not seeking out London's best spots for Swedish fika, she loves to spend her time doing anything creative - with a particular passion for dance and graphic design.

Marion Betsch

Marion is an ESG consultant with a specialisation in procurement and supply chain.

She previously worked for BCG Inverto (part of the Boston Consulting Group), where she was supporting Fortune 500 organisations on various topics including decarbonisation of their supply chain, engagement with their strategic suppliers, and optimisation of their operations.

Marion holds an MSc in Project Management & Consulting from ESCP Business School, and a double BBA in International Business Management from Lancaster University.

She loves running under any weather, going to comedy shows, and looking for the best places to eat dim sum in London.

Glen Sebastian

Glen is a senior modeller with extensive experience in quantitative climate risk & strategy modelling. He has experience in working with FTSE100 & FTSE250 clients on quantitative climate scenario analysis (transition & physical risk), decarbonisation strategy and carbon baselining. Prior to joining Sillion, Glen worked at PwC where he developed an in-house Climate Risk Analytics tool to support clients in making financial decisions related to climate risks and opportunities.

He holds a first-class degree in Finance from Lancaster University. In his free time, he enjoys playing and watching football and badminton.

Isis Bliah

Isis is an ESG consultant with a penchant for ESG regulation who has led Sillion’s buy-side ESG research and report. Her experience includes both in-house and advisory roles, with projects ranging from working with Nissan’s Sustainability Strategy team in Japan to a start-up focused on improving the sustainability of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).

Isis holds a degree in Global Health and Social Medicine from KCL, and an MSc in Environmental Technology, with a focus on business and the environment, from Imperial College. Depending on the day she speaks between two and five languages, and is also a jazz singer in her spare time.

Heela Daudzai

Heela is an award-winning senior brand and communications consultant with experience across a wide range of industries – specifically, leading on the brand and product localisation of global companies such as Coca-Cola, Volkswagen, KFC, and Standard Chartered Bank. In her growing career at Ogilvy and TBWA, she had the privilege to lead on the brand and launch campaigns of some of Middle East’s biggest success stories, such as the Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum and du Telecom. As well as being ranked the ‘Strategic Planner of the Year’ in the MENA region by B&W Report, Heela’s effective strategies have been awarded by several reputable institutions, including Dubai Lynx, WARC Global, and New York Festivals.

She holds a first class degree in Visual Communication from the American University in Dubai, and an MSc with distinction in Strategic Entrepreneurship and Innovation from KCL. She grew up with peacocks and wolves.

Benjamin Freas

Benjamin Freas is our in-house head of modelling for climate transition risk. With over 15 years of experience, he is a master of juggling numbers, data, and sustainability. He joined Sillion from Guidehouse, where he led Guidehouse Insights’ monitoring and forecasting of markets around the energy transition.

He holds a BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland as well as an MBA from the University of St. Gallen. In his free time, he enjoys putting condiments on sandwiches and can often be found in playgrounds and soft plays throughout London with his son and their monkey companion.

Lucy Smaill

Lucy is our Head of Communications, bringing over a decade of experience in communications, client services and sustainability-focused initiatives to Sillion.

Before joining Sillion, Lucy was the Client Partnerships Director at Given (part of Anthesis), where she led the Client Team and managed key client relationships, including John Lewis Partnership, Lloyds Banking Group, and Centrica. Her work has been recognised for its impact and quality, with projects she contributed to winning the CorpComms Award Grand Prix in both 2022 and 2023. She has also worked at third-sector specialists GOOD Agency, having originally started her career at Ogilvy.

Lucy is dedicated to making sustainability communications accessible yet credible, believing that effective communication and engagement are crucial for driving the transition to net zero. She strives to deliver exceptional client services and create communications that demonstrate value and inspire change.

Lucy’s love for sustainability extends to her wardrobe. She is keen seamstress with an extensive handmade collection of dresses, and narrowly missed out on appearing on the Great British Sewing Bee in 2022.

Rahel Demetri

Rahel is our head of people and operations, with over 15 years’ experience working with a wide range of large corporates, family offices, agencies and start-ups. Previously specialising in large-scale B2B events for the global banking industry she now looks after Sillion’s internal business operations, processes, and talent.

She holds a BA in Drama as well as various welding qualifications. She loves horror movies but dislikes the cinema.

Rhianna Hurren-Myers

Rhianna is an associate communications consultant with experience in communications for the built environment, having previously supported on residential sales and community engagement briefs for significant regeneration schemes across London. She also assisted in delivering high profile national, regional and vertical sector media relations campaigns for one of the world’s leading global market research and data consultancies.

In 2022, Rhianna completed an MA with Distinction in International Public Relations and Global Communications Management at Cardiff University. A desire to specialise in sustainability communications was cemented while working on her dissertation thesis, which explored consumer attitudes towards emission reduction strategies in the aviation industry. Rhianna also holds a first-class joint-honours BA in Journalism, Media and Sociology.

New to London - a far cry from her rural upbringing in the West Country - she welcomes suggestions for new places to adventure in the concrete jungle.

Tabitha O’Neil

Tabitha is our people and operations Assistant, managing core processes and supporting across all central functions. She has extensive experience in the events and most recently production industries, planning and executing a wide range including music video, film, and advertising.

As Sillion’s ‘Marie Kondo of Ops’, she is passionate about process refinement and delights in operational organisation.

A self-proclaimed foodie, and winner of the most recent Sillion bake-off, she finds herself in good company at the office. Her ideal day would be spent hosting a dinner party for friends, trying out new recipes and cuisines.

Caelan Crerar

Caelan is a communications consultant experienced in developing and executing strategies for clients in sustainable finance, climate action, healthcare, education and fintech. She is passionate about using communications to drive behaviour change and build strong stakeholder relationships. Before joining Sillion, she worked as a Senior Account Manager at Stand, a B-Corp communications consultancy in London and as a Consultant at Argyle, one of Canada's top communications consultancies.

She holds a Joint Honours BA in Communications and Sociology from the University of Ottawa and a Public Relations Graduate Certificate from Humber College. Originally from Toronto, Caelan has also lived and worked in Taiwan and Australia. Outside of work, you can find her exploring London’s parks, hunting for treasures in charity shops, or searching for the best vegan spots

Mariana Spratley

Mariana is an executive assistant with over 10 years’ experience working with leadership and senior management in international organisations in the human rights, policy, and education sectors. She supports Sillion’s CEO in his day to day, focusing on internal planning and coordination. Previous to joining Sillion, she worked at Amnesty International and the London School of Economics.

Mariana holds a BA in Portuguese and English Languages and Literature from the NOVA University of Lisbon, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Political Science and International Relations from the Catholic University of Portugal.

She grew up near the ocean, and is very partial to pastel de nata.

Tom Hirst-Dunton

Tom comes to Sillion having previously worked across the biotech, medtech and healthcare sectors, establishing and improving processes for software, data and robotic engineering to keep them focused on delivering continual value to clients. Collaborating with various top-10 global pharmaceutical companies and major health insurers, he's always been at home when building bespoke product offerings in complex regulatory environments.

In his new role as head of engineering, Tom’s looking forward to taking his experience from these data-intensive industries and building products that will support our clients' climate transition planning and reporting, and to helping us all contribute to the robust climate operational burdens of climate transition.

Anna Dacam

Anna is an associate ESG consultant at Sillion with sustainability experience across both corporate and grassroots settings. In her previous role, she specialised in advancing sustainability within the hotel sector, collaborating with the world's leading hotel companies on various high-profile initiatives, including developing an industry-first roadmap to net positive for the sector.

Anna holds a first-class degree in Anthropology with Development from the University of Edinburgh. In her spare time, she can be found hunting for second-hand treasures in charity shops or recruiting new members for her funk band.

Pearl Ayem

Pearl is a senior risk modeller at Sillion. Previously a data engineer in finance, she has collaborated with world leaders, organisations, and governments to build an open climate disclosure platform. Starting her career in the Drone and Aviation industry, Pearl facilitated LiDAR remote sensing flights for SAR missions, and performed environmental assessments in Canada's mining and lumber industries, leading to successful start-up exits.

Pearl holds a BSc in Atmospheric Science from the University of British Columbia and an MPhil from the University of Cambridge where she conducted impactful research on glacial melt with the British Antarctic Survey. Pearl is passionate about stormy weather and enjoys rainy day hikes. She aspires to join at least one hurricane hunter flight, showcasing her unwavering commitment to advancing climate science and mitigation efforts.

Todimu Sola-Idowu

Todimu is our People and Operations Manager, bringing over six years of experience in building and scaling HR and Operations within the technology industry. Self-styled as being obsessed with people and operations, she is passionate about making operational improvements and fostering high-performance cultures where everyone thrives, and inclusivity is the norm. Todimu champions dynamic work environments.

She holds a magna cum laude BSc in Business Administration from the American University of Nigeria and an MSc in Human Resources Management from Aston University. An Associate member of the CIPD, Todimu loves to read, travel, and aspires to one day be a professor.

Alexander Bridge

Alex is an associate ESG consultant with a background in communications and financial PR. He has extensive experience working with public and private clients to create, refine and convey their narratives and ESG work for specialist investor audiences and international stakeholders.

Alex holds a first class degree in English and an MSt in English with distinction, both from the University of Oxford. He has strong opinions about judo and medieval literature.

Sarah Miscampbell

Sarah is a communications consultant with extensive experience in developing and contextualizing sustainability strategies across various sectors. Before joining Sillion, she worked at Brunswick Group, advising businesses on sustainability leadership strategies. She also conducted corporate reputation studies at Ipsos MORI.

Sarah holds an MSc in Applied Linguistics from the University of Edinburgh and was born and raised in Alaska. If you see her wearing a fun jumper, feel free to ask if she knitted it herself; she did, and she would love to share the story behind it.
